Xibus World Orchestra 2012

April 12-14, 2012

150 Musicians from Throughout the World  Performing at Jordan Hall in Boston, MA alongside GRAMMY Winning Artists

In April 2012, 150 high school musicians from throughout the United States will converge in Boston, Massachusetts to participate in a three-day musical collaboration as part of the Xibus World Orchestra. The orchestra will be comprised of select symphonic, choral, and rhythm musicians from high schools nationwide.

The culmination of the event will be a concert extravaganza at Boston's own, Jordan Hall, alongside members of critically acclaimed Boston String Quartet, GLEE TV show singer Jeanette Olsson, two-time GRAMMY winners the Turtle Island String Quartet, 6-time EMMY winner Lanny Meyers, and other special guests. Orchestra members will participate in a studio recording to be released by Navona Records, and distributed internationally via Naxos Records and a National Public Television Special.

Repertoire is selected from Boston String Quartet and guest artist playlists, and a worldwide competition involving student composers at the university level.
