~ Xibus for High School

Are you trying to recruit freshmen into your music program? Or, are you looking to make music “cool” for your students? Perhaps you would like to challenge your students with new material? If so, Xibus is right for your school. All of our musicians are themselves teachers, and understand that high school is an extremely busy time for students, and learning how to prioritize and be efficient with their practice is essential. That’s why, when we work with middle school students, we focus on introducing students to tested practice methods, learning intermediate and advanced rhythmic and melodic figures, and engaging them in group and individual improvisation exercises and “jam” sessions.

When you agree to bring Xibus to your school you’ll get the following

-A professional, touring ensemble, that has performed at the world’s greatest stages, including Carnegie and Symphony Halls, and has collaborated with leading artists such as John Mayer and the Turtle Island String Quartet.

-Workshops designed by the Boston String Quartet in conjunction with contemporary music school, School of Groove, that are kid-tested (and approved!) Our musicians are comfortable working with students of all skill levels, and large or small class sizes. Our program is designed with string players in mind, but if you would like to get your choir or band students involved,  we have worked with thousands of choir and band students nationwide, and would be happy to work with yours!

-A never-to-be-forgotten performance by the Boston String Quartet with your students! Xibus stands apart from other educational programs by providing students with the opportunity to perform alongside a professional music group. During the performance, students will perform original compositions and arrangements by the members of the Boston String Quartet. Visit our media page to watch and listen to past performances.
