Welcome to “Xibus”, an innovative and groundbreaking educational program by the Boston String Quartet, that has received national broadcasting and has received critical acclaim by music educators, students, and media throughout the world. Xibus is a multi-faceted event featuring the Boston String Quartet in workshops and master classes with your orchestral students, culminating in an thrilling performance by the Quartet and specially selected students.
Our primary goal in visiting college and university campuses is to provide orchestral students with a threefold experience:
1. To be exposed via performance, to a variety of contemporary playing techniques, styles, and musical literature.
2. To be active participants in learning via experimentation, close examination, and study.
3. To be performers, utilizing learned techniques in a performance environment.
